Admission for September 2026

Notice of Consultation: Ribston Hall High School Admissions Policy 2026-27

In line with legal requirements set out in the Schools Admission Code 2021, the Board of Trustees of Ribston Hall High School are consulting on changes to our ‘over subscription criteria’ for admissions arrangements from September 2026-27.

The substantive changes to the policy are related to the over-subscription criteria:

  • We have amended the definition of “Gloucester City” for students eligible for Pupil Premium to be those that live in GL1, GL2, GL3, GL4.
  • We have added a criterion to the over-subscription criteria which prioritises students who live in Gloucester postcodes GL1, GL2, GL3, GL4 by rank order.

The draft admissions document for you to read can be found here: Notice of Consultation: Ribston Hall High School Admissions Policy 2026-27

The consultation will launch on Thursday 14th November and will close on Friday 3rd January 2025 at 5pm. If you would like to submit any comments regarding the above proposal, please forward them in writing to Sue Hunt, Clerk to the Trustees, either by email clerk@ribstonhall.gloucs.sch.uk or to the school address.

All comments will be considered by the Board of Trustees in January 2025 before the final policy is determined and published on our website.

Admissions Information Morning (AIM) Tuesday 8th April 2025

Ribston is a school community of happy, ambitious people, of diverse opportunities – for learning, growing and trying new things. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, and are passionate about the pastoral care and support we give our students at every step of their journey. They feel looked after and encouraged; inspired to perform to the best of their ability, challenge themselves and go beyond expectations.

As part of our commitment to ensure all students have the opportunity and information to understand how they can apply for, and attend Ribston Hall High School, we will be running our Admissions Information Morning (AIM) on Tuesday 8th April 2025.

The morning is a perfect opportunity for families who have not had experience with grammar schools and are not familiar with the grammar school process. The AIM morning is designed to help families better understand this.
