Following the opening of our new Science facility, the Franklin building, we took Year 7 to the Cheltenham Science Festival where they were able to explore some of the many facets of STEM education in a practical and interesting way.
At the science festival, the students attended an engaging talk on how energy is converted and stored, as well as exploring the Discovery Zone and Arcade where they were able to code, to play and to experiment. In the Maker Shack they could make wicker objects, pottery, seed bombs, mono prints, paper and spinners. Here you can see what they got up to:
With the very best facilities to continue their learning, the students are putting into practice their newfound knowledge in their science lessons. Many thanks to Mrs Heard who organised and led the trip.
