Ribston Hall High School has published an exceptional set of GCSE results, following the outstanding A-level results announced only two days ago. For the first time, national results days for A-levels and GCSEs take place during the same week in 2021, so Ribston Hall has double cause for celebration this week.
We have projected a huge improvement in our Progress 8 score of +0.91, this indicates that Ribston Hall students, on average obtained nearly a whole grade higher than their targets predicted.
In English, 99% students achieved grades 9-5, with over 83% of students achieving grades 9-7; a 7% improvement on last year’s results. In Maths, 97% of students achieved grades 9-5, with those achieving grades 9-7 increasing an incredible 10% over last year.
Ribston Hall students achieved similar success in their other Baccalaureate subjects, with students on average gaining over a grade and a half above their targets in Humanities and Languages and a grade in Science.
Headteacher Mrs Sarah Colombini said, “I’m delighted for our students; having such outstanding results gives them an excellent foundation for the next exciting stage of their education. With an incredibly strong A-level performance this year too, we hope to see many of our Year 11 pupils in our Sixth Form in September to follow in Year 13’s footsteps.
We aim to empower young women to discover their potential while at Ribston and I feel this year’s Year 11 cohort have lived and breathed our school values. The teachers and senior leadership team are exceptionally proud of the students’ achievements during a particularly tricky GCSE journey. Well done to our students for an excellent set of results.”
Charlotte McGillion, who achieved five Grade 9s and four Grade 8s, commented, “The support I have received throughout my time at Ribston Hall both inside and outside the classroom has been phenomenal. I am so thankful to my teachers and the school for all the opportunities I’ve been presented with.” Hannah Tatesh, who achieved two Grade 9s, six Grade 8s and two Grade 7s, stated, “Ribston Hall supported all their students throughout the lockdown period and allowed us to achieve our full potential. I am really grateful for the opportunities they gave me and how they supported me in my journey.”
