Music Tour - Slovenia 2019
On the 7th of July, we set off for this year’s Music Tour to Slovenia. Our time in Slovenia was spent in Kranjska Gora, in Hotel Spik- a beautiful hotel surrounded by the Slovenian mountains.
There were a range of activities we enjoyed during the trip, including visits to the local town, Kranjska Gora, shopping in the capital city, Ljubljana, visiting a gingerbread museum and a castle, and time exploring the history and beauty of the country. Most importantly though, were our concerts.
These were an excellent opportunity to enjoy performing in new locations and to do what we all love. We performed in a range of locations such as town centres, and our concerts included a variety of pieces from the Music Tour choir, flute trio, instrumental solos and string group.
We all took great pride in performing in concerts as special as these and Music Tour was an excellent opportunity to spend time amongst people who all share a love for performance and music.
From breaking out in song in public to creating special memories, Music Tour 2019 has been an unforgettable experience and we are very grateful to the Music Department staff for your support and helping us have such a memorable trip.

This month we were honoured to have celebrated with the Year 13 students at their leavers' ball. The grandeur of the venue provided by The Manor by the Lake and the setting of the sun made for the perfect backdrop.
It was such a pleasure to see our students celebrate their time at Ribston Hall and join in the emotions and excitement for their next steps. We wish them all a well-earned rest this summer and look forward to continuing the celebrations with them come results day. 
Leadership for our Year 7 volunteers. Each and every student has had the opportunity to sign up to lead one event this month. Firstly, 7D and 7S welcomed Year 4 and 5 girls from local Primary Schools to Ribston Hall for our first ever ‘It’s a knock out’ event which involved inflatables and fun relays in a non-competitive environment. 
The second leadership event was for 7B and 7R. They were superb at leading Key Stage 1 pupils in a multi skills event at Plock Court. You can see from the photos how much fun was had by all!
We spent 4 days canoeing both the river Avon and the river Seven from Pershore to Worcester (the a very, very long way around!). It was a great experience where we formed a group with three other girls from a grammar school in London. We learnt lots of new canoeing techniques and met many people from schools across the country. It was harder than we had envisioned and a step up from Silver but we had a lot of fun and are looking forward to our qualifying expedition on the Wye in August.
young linguists (including myself) visited Denmark Road High School for a day of language development and enjoyment. 
After this, we all came together in the hall for some GCSE linked tasks, and ended the day with a fun Kahoot! Just before we departed, some prizes were awarded – congratulations to Faith Warrington-Adler from 9B, who showed herself to be a very talented linguist.
